RRC-EA and MCF visit international wetland cities in the Republic of Korea
The Ramsar Regional Center – East Asia (RRC-EA) and Shenzhen Mangrove Wetlands Conservation Foundation (MCF) visited the Wetland Cities of Jeju and Suncheon in the Republic of Korea on 1-5 April 2019 as a joint activity to learn from the experiences and programs of wetland centers on wetland education. The MCF visit is part of the China Coastal Wetland Conservation Network Wetland Education Center Project, which aims to establish and develop pilot wetland education centers according to international standards in the next three (3) years, and to promote development standards for wetland education centers in China. Representatives and core officials from the Haikou Forestry Bureau or Haikou Wetland Protection and Management Center, Haikou Xiuying District Wetland Protection and Management Center, and Haikou Duotan Wetland Institute also joined the MCF team. Towards the end of the field visits, the RRC-EA oriented MCF visitors about its work in the East, Southeast and South Asian region, and showcased important features of the Suncheon Bay National Garden.
